Use F2 to Rename a File in Total Commander

June 1st, 2010 1 comment

The default keyboard shortcut for Renaming a file in Total Commander (TC) is “Shift + F6”. But for those who are used to Windows Explorer, “F2” is the shortcut to rename a file. In order to use “F2” to rename a file in TC we need to do a key remapping. Here is how to do it:

From TC Menu: “Configuration” -> “Options” -> “Misc” -> “Redefine Hotkeys”. Select “F2”, then click the button with a glasses and select command “cm_RenameOnly” for renaming a file.
